AstraPixels is a captivating animated, pixel-art map of the solar system that displays every celestial body at its real, current position. Rather than relying on copied lists, positions are dynamically computed directly from published orbital elements. Users can seamlessly zoom in and out from the blazing Sun all the way out to the distant Kuiper belt, exploring a rich catalog of 171 catalogued objects complete with sourced facts.
In addition to educational exploration and tracking what the night sky will do over the next six months, AstraPixels introduces a unique ownership feature. Every rock in the system is available for purchase: users can claim an asteroid for just $5, keep it forever, and assign it a custom name of their choice. Please note that names assigned here appear exclusively on AstraPixels and do not serve as official IAU designations.
