About Glimps
Glimps is an innovative, gamified iOS exploration app that turns the real world into an interactive fog-of-war map. Designed to encourage physical activity and urban discovery, the app starts with the world covered in fog, which users lift by physically walking through locations.
Offering a unique blend of fitness tracking, travel logging, and artificial intelligence, Glimps allows users to claim landmarks by standing near them for 30 seconds, stamp cities into a digital travel passport, and watch their overall exploration percentage climb. With support for 3,800 landmarks across 85 cities, explorers can compete on leaderboards, follow community walking routes, and utilize Glimps AI to get personalized recommendations on where to walk next.
To ensure fair play and authentic engagement, every scored step is GPS-verified server-side, preventing users from faking progress from the couch. Once you have uncovered an area, you can easily share your achievements using a customized "City Wrapped" card of your mapped journey. Glimps is available for free on iPhone.
